Interview

Friday, the 9th of January we went to Amsterdam. We interviewed a Syrian man working in Amsterdam. His name is Rimon Saliba. He spoke both English and Dutch well enough to talk to him. He told us he is happy in the Netherlands where he already lives for a quite long time, but thinks what is going on in Syria is terrible. The interview:

Do you have family living in Syria?

Of course I have.

How are their lives in Syria?

Their lives are really bad, a lot of war, no food, no water and no contact with family in the Netherlands.

What do you think about the policy of Assad?

It's a good policy in my opinion.

Do you support the opposition or the government?

The government.

What would be the ideal solution for you?

All radical groups out of the country and let Assad form his own government and take his own decisions.

Who caused the civil war in your opinion?

The radical groups like the Free Syrian Army.

What do you think about the gas attacks in Syria?

Really bad, but I believe the radicals did it, and they blame the Syrian government.

Does the one-party state work in your eyes?

Yes, I think it does.

What would you change in Syria?

More peace, and make it a free and peaceful country. It is a nice country, like Lebanon, which is ruined by the radicals.

Will there be peace in Syria in 2015?

I believe there is a high chance there will be peace in Syria in 2015.
